God doesn’t just listen to our pleas for help; he also sends a strong Deliverer! God sent Moses when the Israelites asked for help in Egypt (cf. Exodus 3). God also sent Jesus because people all over the world were crying out for freedom from the evil prince of darkness. Our new world, which we call the Kingdom, is built on love—the selfless love of a Savior who not only defeated death for us, but also gave up his own life to do it. Jesus is not only our rescuer (he saves us FROM something), but also our Savior (he saves us FOR something).

Prayer
God, you are love and you are eternal. In Jesus, you reached down to my limited world and saved me from its limits. Thank you for letting go of death’s tight grip. Thank you for breaking down the walls that kept me from you with love. Thank you for saving me and letting me join your family and your kingdom. I thank you, serve you, and praise you. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
