Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. — James 3:13

Who is truly wise can be seen by how loving and humble they are. People are often proud, but the Lord thinks they are worse than stupid; he thinks they are woefully ignorant. Wisdom is not about showing off how much you know, but about how you live your life. Which do you most resemble in your walk with Jesus: a wise person who lives in a humble, loving way, or a smart aleck who feels superior and is arrogant?

Prayer

I know you’ve been a wise and loving father to me, Shepherd. Help me give the person who needs it most today the care you have shown me. Please keep me from getting cocky or feeling like I’m better than others, and humble me in ways that will make me a better tool in your hands. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
