Because the Holy Spirit lives in us, we can be sure of a greater glory to come (cf. 2 Corinthians 1:22; 2 Corinthians 5:5). The Spirit is the first sign of the glory that will be shown through us (Romans 8:18). Our current situation is just a taste of what’s to come. We long to be dressed in our heavenly home and to be at home with God (2 Corinthians 5:1-8).

Prayer

Dear Father, you have given me a lot of great things. I appreciate every single one of them. At the same time, though, dear Father, I want to be brought into your presence as your child in glory. I long for the day when your Son comes back in glory because of all the pain and heartache in the world, the weakness of my body, and how frustrated I am that I am so prone to sin. Help me be your holy child until that day comes. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
