What keep your heart safe? What keeps your mind safe? Did you know that God’s peace can keep our hearts and minds safe? In this passage, the apostle Paul promises us this. If we bring our requests to God with thanksgiving, God’s peace, which can’t be explained and is bigger than what we can understand, will watch over our hearts and minds. You want to know why this is true? Check out the book of Job. All that comes his way. All of this hurts him. Even so, he doesn’t lose his heart or go crazy. What will help him stay alive? He was always talking to the LORD. He won’t give up on that relationship no matter how much it hurts, how confused he is, or how much he is made fun of.

Prayer
Father, I need your tranquility. There are wounds that puncture my heart, but I don’t want it to grow callous and callused. There are times my thinking is so jumbled that I fear I may lose my logic. Dear Father, I trust that as I cling to Jesus, and as I talk frankly with you about my life and your grace, that you will bless me with your peace and will shield my heart and my mind from destruction. Thank you, dear Father, for the reminder that even as I battle with my issues, I also need to offer you thankfulness for all the beautiful things that you have blessed me with in my life and my walk with you! In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
