Be humble about what’s to come! Tomorrow is not up to us. We may have taken tomorrow for granted in the past, but not anymore. Maybe tomorrow won’t come. Something bad could happen tomorrow. Everything we have could be gone tomorrow. Is there anything good we can hold on to in the face of these discouraging possibilities? Absolutely! We know that God is in charge of the future. We know that our future is safe because our lives are hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:1–4). It may not be what we think it will be. It might not work out the way we want. But God will decide how things will go, and in the end, we will share in his comfort, victory, and glory.

Prayer
Father, all of my tomorrows depend on you. I hope that I can help you today, that I will be brave enough not to worry about tomorrow, and that my love for you and my commitment to you will not change. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
