Paul reminded Timothy that there is a very straightforward formula that determines ultimate gain, the gain of inestimable value: net worth = (godly character) X. (contentment). What would happen if we understood that people who were genuinely affluent were those who had a godly character and were grateful for the benefits in their lives?

O LORD God, the source of all blessings, reorient my priorities away from worldly greed and toward a virtuous set of financial principles. My character should reflect the holiness that Jesus exhibited throughout his life. Educate me the contentment that comes only from you.In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
