But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. — 1 Corinthians 15:20

Having no end is not a new idea. It will be new for all time to be exactly like Jesus. But when Jesus woke up from his death sleep and the moment of glory was on the line, we were also given the promise that death no longer has us. The only death that matters is the death we have to sin when we are baptized with Jesus. If we were there when he died, we’ll be there when he comes back to life (see Romans 6:1-14).

Prayer

God, the All-Powerful, Almighty I know I will see you face to face because of your grace and the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. But now, please help me to live that resurrected life by modeling myself more closely on Jesus than ever before. In Jesus’s precious name I pray. Amen.
