For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. — 1 Thessalonians 4:14

Even though Jesus’ death on the cross was horrible, it wasn’t the end of his story. Jesus died, but he came back to life. Because Jesus rose from the dead, we can believe two things: 1) that Jesus will come back in glorious victory for those who have believed in him, and 2) that when Jesus comes back, we will be with those we love who have died in Christ.

Prayer

Holy and powerful Father, thank you for raising Jesus from the dead and giving me the promise that I will live forever with you and with the people I love who have already died. I can’t wait for the day when Jesus comes back in glory with all the angels of heaven and brings death to an end. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
