I “speed read” through the “begats” most of the time (you know, through the genealogies in the Bible). But let’s take some time today to read Matthew 1:1-17 and remember that God’s love, mercy, and faithfulness not only lasted through all of those generations, but also blessed and cared for each of those generations. As we wait for the glorious return of his Son and our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, God will continue to do what he has always done.

Thank you, dear Father, for being sure, steady, and faithful in a world where things change and can’t be counted on. Everyone seems to want something from me or out of me right now. Thank you, dear Father, for blessing me over and over again. Thank you for being as strong as the mountains and as beautiful as the best sunrise. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
