Power! We love to be in charge. We love the way power looks and sounds. We love having power because it lets us change things. But the most power that has ever been shown on earth was when the Almighty God held back his strength and anger while his Son was being persecuted and killed. So that he could save us, he did it. Now that’s a great show of strength, and it was done just for us. Plus, we know that Jesus’s death on the cross was not the end. Instead, it was the beginning of his glorious and victorious resurrection.

Prayer

I thank you, Holy and Majestic God of all, for your amazing strength and power. I also appreciate your love, which directs the power’s release. Thank you for realizing that without your sustaining Spirit, I am nothing more than dust. Thank you for sparing me from your mighty power so that your sacrificial power could forgive me. I offer this prayer in the holy name of Jesus and because of his mercy. In Jesus’s precious name I pray. Amen.
