(For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow:) — Job 8:9

Job learnt his position in the cosmos before the All-Powerful God, even though he never understood why he was suffering (Job 38-41). Time moves quite slowly while we are young, particularly when we are anticipating something great. However, the years pass by more swiftly as we age. Nevertheless, despite all of our knowledge and experience, we come to two major realizations: our knowledge is quite limited compared to all that is known, and time is passing by so quickly. These two awakenings get us ready to give our lives and future to our God, who longs to have us come to him.

Thank you very much, Holy and Almighty God, my Abba Father, for your unfathomable patience in trying to show your love to individuals like me who lack the mental capacity to understand your majesty and splendor. Please grant me insight this week so that I can make the right choices and follow your lead rather than my own. In Jesus’ name I ask it. Amen.
