Jesus IS the King! Christ was the point of God’s plan. God’s plan depended on Christ coming at the right time. God’s plan was to bring everyone together in Christ by making him king over everyone. God is very happy about this plan, too, because it will save us. God is the only one who can save us. Jesus saves us and rules over us. So, the real question we face today is this: In what parts of our lives, hearts, secrets, sins, or rebellion have we not given him control?

Prayer

O Holy Father, I know that my heart can sometimes lie. I can sometimes even trick myself. But when I kneel before you and am convicted by your Word, I am reminded of the parts of my life that I haven’t fully given over to your control and the control of Jesus. Please, dear Father, let the Holy Spirit gently show me how I’ve been fooling myself and convict me of it, so that I can give myself completely to your will. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
