Some of us won’t stop moving no matter what. Well, just about everything. When we are “too full of ourselves” and too focused on our own plans, the LORD, our Shepherd, slows us down and makes us lie down. Our Shepherd knows that we need rest, food, and refreshment. He helps us find “green pastures” and “still waters,” and sometimes he even makes us. After we have had a chance to rest and feel better, he leads us in the direction of his righteousness and holiness. Isn’t it interesting that God always puts grace first and then glory in our lives?

Prayer
Thank you, dear Father, for slowing down my crazy life and leading me to times of refreshment, rest, and nourishment. I have faith that you will lead me to what I need as you teach me to be more and more like you. Please forgive me for getting too busy to hear your voice and respond to your grace. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
