When we think of the Cross, we should never use the words “tragic accident” to describe it. Peter makes it clear that the cross is where two different sources of power met. Evil won, and the Son of God died on the cross. God had a plan, and he let the cross happen so that we could be saved. The Cross did not happen by chance. What hell wanted to be our final defeat, God used to save us and give us victory. Everything good and bad came together. The empty tomb and the risen Lord are the final answers to this battle, not the Cross. We are the winners of this grace, which cost so much and was given to us in such a cruel way by our biggest enemy. It was made possible by Jesus’ victory over death.

Prayer
Holy God, thank you for making a way for my sins to be forgiven and for my future with you to be safe. Thank you for making sure that plan worked by paying the price. Thank you for beating the evil of hell and the evil people who made it. I love you so much for everything you do and everything you are. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
