Love is an activity. The Bible reinforces this point again and again. Love must not only be expressed, it must also be exhibited. The beginning of love is God. He displayed his love in the most sacrificial of ways so we could recognize our enormous importance to him. The price of our adoption was the emptying of heaven of its greatest treasure, God the Son, who is our Savior.

Thank you, Father, for taking me into your family. I will never be able to thank you enough or repay you for your kindness, but please accept the service of my life as my ongoing thanks for your grace and my small way of trying to share the love you have given me. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
