So frequently today, we reject the knowledge of those who have come before us and who desire to impart with us the collective wisdom that was handed down to them by their ancestors. Let’s be extra careful during the next several weeks to those who are older and have shown themselves faithful. At the same time, let’s tell our children and our grandchildren how essential obedience is to God, especially the obedience of children to their parents.

Dear Heavenly Father, I’m sorry that I didn’t always listen to what my parents said or do what they told me to do. I’m grateful that they love me and want to show me the way to you. Please give them your grace and bless me as I try to follow your will more. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
