Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: — Romans 15:5

As we follow Jesus, God’s Spirit brings us together. But unity serves a greater purpose than simply getting along with one another. Jesus prayed for unity so that the world would know that God sent Jesus as his Son (John 17). (John 17). We want to be one so that our worship will bring God honor. Unity is more than just a goal. Unity is the process by which the world learns about Jesus. Simultaneously, we praise the Father for sending Jesus to save us. Living for Jesus is all about leading people to Jesus and honouring God! Make togetherness our obsession!

Prayer

Great and Almighty God, you are the source of eternal strength for all who call on your name. I’m sorry for everything I’ve done or said that has hurt others in your family or torn apart the unity of your Church, and I ask for your forgiveness. Please bless my efforts as I try to do less of my own thing, live for your glory, and try to help others. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
