Now will I shortly pour out my fury upon thee, and accomplish mine anger upon thee: and I will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense thee for all thine abominations. — Ezekiel 7:8

Because God’s people have repeatedly disobeyed him and chosen not to listen to what he wants, he is about to let them deal with the results of their own sin. Because they are still rebelling, he is ready to judge them by the strictest standards. We need to remember that God wants us to be holy just as much as he did with the people of the Old Testament. Let’s stay true to him no matter what our culture says.

God, please don’t scold me in your anger. Instead, tell me to live for you no matter what my situation or culture is. I want to do, say, and think things that are true to you. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
