We have a deep desire to find God because he is not far away and wants to get to know us (see Acts 17). But most of the time, when we need God the most, he is the last place we go to find satisfaction. Let’s really look for him and find what our souls need in him.

Prayer

Dear Holy Father, please give me a deep yearning for you and the knowledge that it is your presence that I seek. I admit that I have frequently looked for non-satisfying things to quell my hunger. I promise to acknowledge that all other sources of fulfillment are illusory and transient. I swear to work toward you and your will in accordance with your word and your Spirit until I find rest in your grace and presence. In Jesus’s precious name I pray. Amen.
