Our culture is now again becoming fascinated with the occult, the realm of demons, and witchcraft. It’s simple for us to respond in one of two harmful ways: either we minimize the truth of these things or we engage in them as enjoyment or entertainment. God wants us to understand that these obsessions are harmful because the wicked forces that are responsible for them are real, and when we engage in them, they corrupt us. God alone is God, and his people are to worship him without any rivals.

Prayer

Thank you, Holy and Mighty God, for using the death and resurrection of Jesus to overthrow the authority and control of wicked forces. Please deliver the people that I know and love who are in some way ensnared by a preoccupation with false gods and evil spirits. Please fill your church with your Spirit and make us holy, spotless people who are prepared to serve you. In Jesus’ name I ask it. Amen.
