Sunday worship can be a source of inspiration and joy. Worship can be exciting in everyday life. Worship can change the way we relate to each other. But this kind of worship always means giving up our own ways, wills, and wants and learning to live for someone else. If we really have Christ Jesus as our Lord, we will live like he did. We will submit to others and serve them for their good and to meet their needs. That means sometimes being soft. Sometimes that means being tough. But it means always living for God’s honor.

Prayer

O LORD God All-Powerful, It’s challenging for me to give in to anyone else’s desires and self. I find it so simple to only see things from my perspective. I catch myself putting my own interests ahead of other people’s welfare. So that my life reflects your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control, kindly fill me up with your Spirit more powerfully. I pray for your divine assistance in the name of Jesus so that I may live a life that more fully reflects who He is. In Jesus’s precious name I pray. Amen.
