The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, — Ephesians 1:18

With our hearts, we can see heaven.. When we are feeling down, doubtful, or discouraged, our hearts need to be “enlightened.” In our darkness, the dawn needs to come, and when it does, we see hope and the wealth that is ours. But when things look bad, sometimes the only way to remember these things is to sing them, pray them, or read God’s promises about them.

Prayer

You are my hope, God. I believe in you and what you say. But I have to say that sometimes, like right now, it’s hard for me to believe that you will answer my prayers and do what I’ve asked you to do with my life. Please fill me with your Spirit, calm my fears, and light my fire so I can serve you with courage and share your grace with others. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
