Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother: — Zechariah 7:9

He reminds us that God wants us to be fair, kind, caring, not biased, and soft-hearted toward people in need. He also wants us to give each other the benefit of the doubt. In other words, he wants us to treat each other the same way Christ did. Why? We can’t be right with God and wrong with people at the same time.

Prayer

Please forgive me, loving Father, for getting stuck on hard-to-understand Bible verses and ignoring your clear instructions on how to live. Please give me a chance this week to live the way you told me to. Please use your Spirit to remind me of this passage when my heart gets cold or when I don’t treat others the way I should. That way, I can live it to your glory. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
