There are rust stains, grass stains, blood stains, and chocolate stains. In the laundry room, those stains are the worst. They don’t just leave a stain on the surface of the fabric; they also leave a residue that gets into the fibers of our clothes. That’s how evil works. We must not kid ourselves. Evil is bad and leaves a bad mark on everything it touches, even the hearts of people who are otherwise good. Because of this, we are told to stay far away from evil and to avoid even seeing it. That’s also why Jesus died: not only to beat the Evil One, but also to get rid of the stain and mess he left behind.

Prayer
Father, watch over my way and give me good Christian friends who will help me stay away from bad things. Also, dear Father, please help me as I try to share the cleansing and freeing power of Christ with those around me who are caught in the destructive and deceptive grip of evil. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
