Isn’t it true! When we get caught up in the moral filth of our culture, we find the Bible boring and pointless. But even when Satan uses sin to make our hearts hard, God’s Spirit calls us to change in a way that goes beyond just understanding what the Bible says. Thank God for his Spirit, which is like a surgeon’s scalpel and can use God’s Word to do the needed surgery on our hearts.

Prayer

Holy God, with the help of your Holy Spirit, I’m giving up the bad habits I’ve had in my life today. I know that these things not only hurt your holiness and grace, but they also make it harder for me to do what you want, pull me away from your character, and make it harder for me to tell others about you. Please forgive me and give me strength as I try to live a life that makes you happy in every way. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
