Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts. — Ephesians 6:22

Paul was in prison, which was hard for him, but he cared more about the people in Ephesus than he did about himself. Paul didn’t keep Tychicus close to help himself. Instead, he sent him back to Asia Minor to bless the people there. Even when he was in trouble and in danger, Paul cared more about blessing others than about being blessed himself. Isn’t that a good lesson for us to learn today? We get so angry about little things and let it affect how we feel about everyone else. Paul’s example should make us feel guilty and lead us to be a blessing to others no matter what.

Prayer

Father, please forgive me for letting my problems change how I feel. No matter what my life is like, I want to be a blessing to others. When I start to think too much about myself and my situation, convict me with your Spirit. Grow your grace in my heart so I can turn my troubles, problems, struggles, and challenges into chances to share and show your grace. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
