Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us? — Isaiah 29:15

We can be so silly at times, can’t we? We try to keep the Lord from knowing what we’ve done and what we’re planning. We’re only fooling ourselves, though. At first glance, the fact that God knows our plans and sees what we do seems scary. But when you think about it for a while, isn’t it nice that God can see everything, including our thoughts and motives? This makes sure that justice will be done and that our mistakes will be judged based on what we meant to do, not just how bad they turned out. On top of that, it means that people who try to hurt us will have to answer to God, so we don’t have to worry about “settling the score” or “getting even.”

Prayer

Father, please forgive me for the times I tried to keep my plans and thoughts from you. Make a new and clean heart in me so I don’t have to worry about what you might find out about me. Use the power of your Spirit to make my spirit want to be like you and long for you to be in my life. I want to spend my life serving your kingdom and living for your glory. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
